Hublot’s mastery of coloured materials does not preclude it from showcasing a dynamic sportif look. The innovative Swiss watchmaker has forged deep ties with the world of sports, through iconic partnerships via the likes of five UEFA EUROS and a broad array of Friends of the Brand. This has included the likes of France superstar Kylian Mbappe, historic Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, eminent Swiss skier Corinne Suter, Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic and many more. Innovative designs from Hublot Manufacture are paired with rubber straps, embodying the brand’s Art of Fusion DNA. This provides a dynamic, sporting usage, but with unique visages. Hublot is reprising its iconic Essential Grey collection. It is one of the Manufacture’s most popular vintages thanks to its exclusivity: a single model, a single colour, once a year, sold through a single channel. “The Essential Grey is one of our most eagerly awaited recurring series. It’s the kind of curve ball we like at Hublot: At a time when so many brands and studios are struggling to guess what the next colour trend will be, we have decided to keep this essential grey, unique and different, year after year, because we know it will be a timeless collector’s item. In fact, its success proves that it already is,” says CEO Ricardo Guadalupe This year, the decision to choose the Classic Fusion model was no coincidence. Alongside its most disruptive creations, Hublot likes to regularly highlight the importance of its founding models. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hublot (@hublot) It is what defines the two Classic Fusion pieces in the 2024 Essential Grey vintage. Both come with 100% titanium cases and bezels, the first measuring 42 mm, the second 45 mm. Both feature all the hallmarks of a genuine Classic Fusion: integrated bracelet, satin-finished bezel with 6 functional screws with H-shaped head, exclusive textured rubber strap, and sunray finished dial with three central hands complemented by a discreet date window. The 42 mm Classic Fusion Essential Grey beats to the rhythm of the HUB1110 calibre, which is just 3.61 mm thick, while its 45 mm big brother is powered by the HUB1112 movement, measuring 4.26 mm. This “made- to-measure” choice shows respect for the design and engineering, which perfectly blends the forms and functions specific to each case. In the interests of fairness, however, each piece offers the same level of mechanical excellence, with a guaranteed power reserve of 42 hours. A new interpretation of a classic material, meanwhile, is offered by the durable and eye-catching Big Bang MP-11 14-Day Power Reserve Water Blue Sapphire. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hublot (@hublot) The MP-11 has been the power behind the most daring aesthetic interpretations: ceramic, SAXEM, Magic Gold, 3D carbon. But sapphire remains Hublot’s material of choice. The Manufacture is the undisputed master in its use, with probably the widest range of shades in the watch industry. The 2024 edition of the MP-11 is no exception to the long tradition of innovation at the heart of Hublot’s DNA. For the first time, it will be available in “Water Blue” sapphire. This new shade is based on a new chemical formula, a custom development, and an exclusive transparency index, yet still boasts all the usual properties of sapphire: brilliant, luminous, perfectly inalterable, and 100% resistant to knocks and scratches. A new ceramic colour is making its appearance at the heart of the Big Bang Unico: a vibrant orange, the result of a unique alchemy and a flawless resistance to shocks and scratches. The new Big Bang Unico Orange Ceramic follows in the footsteps of its predecessors. It offers a unique, perfectly uniform colour, whatever exterior component it is used to adorn. It is finished to a very high watchmaking standard, with a perfect mirror polish all over. Hand finishing is the only way to achieve this level of excellence on all the components, due to their diverse shapes, thicknesses, holes and angles. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hublot (@hublot) Hublot has recreated the exact colour of the ceramic for the counters on the dial and the hands, as well as for the integrated rubber strap. This strap features the patented “One-Click” system for quick, tool-free changes. This series is limited to 250 pieces. At its heart beats the UNICO Chronograph Manufacture calibre. This is the very latest generation of the automatic flyback chronograph movement developed by Hublot. Guaranteeing a three-day power reserve (72 hours), it retains the same aesthetic signature: column wheel at 6 o’clock, bicompax layout (small seconds at 9 o’clock, 60-minute counter at 3 o’clock with integrated date), silicon escapement, and the always demonstrative and powerful skeleton architecture. The Unico sits inside the iconic Big Bang case. This version is 42 mm in diameter and features the famous 6 titanium ‘H’ shaped bezel screws and lugs on either side of the that echo the design of a ship’s porthole.
