Uzbek fighter Sanzhar Zakirov will put his undefeated ONE Championship record on the line when he takes on Japan’s Hiroba Minowa at ONE 168: Denver. 21-year-old Zakirov has been impressive in his three outings to date in the world’s biggest martial arts organisation. Coming on the promotion’s ONE Friday Fights series he chalked up three wins in a little under six months, convincing CEO Chetri Sityodtong to give him a contract. Those wins have seen two explosive finishes – the first over Dave Bangguigui on debut, before dispatching Ryosuke Honda in the second round in his last appearance in March of this year. ‘The Tornado’ as he is known, now holds a 12-0 professional MMA career, and will appear in September on the loaded ONE 168: Denver card featuring the likes of Jonathan Haggerty, Superlek, Kade Ruotolo, Mikey Musumeci. His opponent for the strawweight clash, Minowa, will be looking to build on a win last time out which halted a slump of three consecutive defeats. The 24-year old holds a 14-5 record as a professional and is 3-3 in ONE Championship.
