Under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued an order declaring Sunday, January 5, 2025, a public holiday for ministries, authorities, and government institutions. This is in support of Bahrain’s national football team as they compete in the Gulf Cup (Khaleeji Zain 26) final, held in the State of Kuwait, against the team of the Sultanate of Oman. The royal directive reflects His Majesty’s commitment to supporting sports and athletes, as well as His Royal Highness’s dedication to fostering national unity and encouraging Bahraini citizens to stand united behind the team during this landmark sporting event. The decision accommodates fans attending the historic match in Kuwait. It accounts for logistical challenges faced by them as they will not be able to return from Kuwait before the start of official work hours.
