Next presidential election, crucial national event, says Hassani Cherif

ALGIERS- The candidate of the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) for the presidential election of 7 September, Abdelaali Hassani Cherif, affirmed Wednesday, in Algiers, that the next presidential election is a “crucial national event,” insisting on “the necessity of strengthening the national cohesion.”

Guest of El Moudjahid Forum on the 7th day of the election campaign, Hassani Cherif called for reinforcing "national unity, through widespread popular support of the next president," stating that massive participation in this presidential election is "an affirmation of the democracy and pluralism the country is experiencing."

According to Hassani Cherif, his electoral program titled "Forsa" (Opportunity) aims to "build a free, solidarity-based, and social economy on the basis of an equitable distribution of wealth, while addressing the concerns of the youth."

On the social front, the program provides for "the care and support of all segments of society," he pointed out, in addition to "the revision of the statutes governing various professional categories."

Through his electoral program, Hassani has also committed to "improving the quality of education, health, and training, with the aim of establishing the country as an emerging power at the regional and international levels.

Discussing the election campaign, the MSP candidate affirmed that it is experiencing a "popular enthusiasm" thanks in particular to the efforts made by the party through the organization of eight major meetings, in addition to daily community activities to raise awareness about the importance of this election.

Furthermore, Hassani Cherif said that his program advocated for the establishment of a "parliamentary system in order to achieve a balance of powers and strengthen the control mechanisms over the executive branch".

At the economic level, the candidate Hassani Cherif said that his program will lead to an increase in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), raise per capita income, and reduce the unemployment rate, stating that his vision for the future is based on "a new administrative division founded on the revision of the municipal and provincial codes, the expansion of the powers of elected officials, and the increase in the number of provinces."

At the international level, the MSP candidate reaffirmed his steadfast support for the Palestinian and Sahrawi causes.
