Algerian tanker “In Ecker,” loaded with 30,000 tons of fuel oil, leaves Skikda port for Lebanon

SKIKDA- The Algerian tanker “In Ecker” set sail for Lebanon on Thursday morning, with a cargo of 30,000 tons of fuel oil, in execution of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to provide the necessary quantities of fuel for the operation of power plants and the restoration of electricity in this country.

[ecr]  The head of the "East" port unit for Sonatrach-Skikda's marketing operations, Hocine Belabed, told APS that fuel loading onto the oil tanker In Ecker began on Tuesday evening at Skikda's oil port. The process continued for 18 hours, concluding around 3:30 PM on Wednesday.

The In Ecker is owned by HYPROC Shipping Company, a Sonatrach subsidiary that specializes in maritime hydrocarbon transport.

Belabed said that after loading was completed, several hours were required to finalize technical, commercial, and security procedures before the ship could depart for its destination. He noted that multiple Sonatrach group entities collaborated on this operation, including the Skikda refinery, the "East" port unit's marketing division, and the Hydrocarbon Marine Terminals Operating Company (STH).

For his part, the director of Skikda’s refinery, Abdlehamid Merabet, said that this fuel cargo for Lebanon was carried out at Skikda’s refinery which has a production capacity of 16.5 million tons/year.
