On the 8th day of the election campaign, candidate Youcef Aouchiche hosted a meeting at Abdelmadjid-Meziane Regional Museum and stressed that his party “has chosen to participate in the presidential election to give hope back to the Algerians and not to yield to defeatism and the flight forward policy.”

The FFS “has assumed its responsibilities towards the Algerian people and the country, and so does today by participating in this election that comes in a sensitive time, when mobilization is the watchword to preserve the country,” he said.

Presenting the thrusts of his election program “Vision for Tomorrow,” notably its economic and social aspects, Aouchiche said his program “was based on realistic solutions to problems to give hope back to Algerians.”

On the social front, he said the FFS party’s program “is based on strengthening citizens’ purchasing power by increasing the national guaranteed minimum wage, abolishing the global income tax for salaries of less than DZD50,000 and capping the price of food products.”

As for the economy, Aouchiche stated that it was time to move away from the rent policy through economic diversification. He committed to “taking measures to ensure food sovereignty.”[/ecr]
