ALGIERS- Local events and rallies held by the three presidential candidates' campaign managements in Algiers have aroused the interest of the residents of the Algerian capital, who seized the opportunity to get acquainted with the programmes of the candidates and their ideas, especially those relating to the daily life of citizens.

The election campaign organisers have launched various activities to explain the programmes of their candidates to people and convince them of the importance of going to vote, in large numbers, for their respective candidates.

Local activities were mainly held in working-class neighbourhoods of Algiers, like Bab El Oued, the Grand Post Office and May 1st Square, where the campaign staff distribute leaflets and communicate daily with citizens, encouraging them to vote for their candidate.

In addition, the campaign managers note the concerns of citizens to convey them to the relevant candidate, a highly appreciated initiative.

Several citizens of different ages emphasized the importance of social media, as it has made it possible to follow the campaign meetings and events held by the candidates and their representatives.

Others prefer visiting the candidates' offices to get information about their programmes.
