He noted the special context in which the meeting was taking place, referring to the tragedy the Palestinian people are living because of the barbaric Zionist aggression.

The minister recalled Algeria's historic and unwavering support to the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights for the establishment of their independent State, with Al-Quds as capital.

Belmehdi stressed "Algeria's sustained efforts to achieve Palestinian unity, and its tireless diplomatic efforts and different initiatives at the UN Security Council in line with the priorities set by the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

He cited in this respect the call for an immediate halt to the aggression against the Gaza Strip, the delivery of unconditional humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, and the call for pressure on the Zionist occupation entity to get it to abide by the international law and legality."
