Presidential election: Candidates emphasize election’s significance, preservation of national identity

ALGIERS — The candidates for the upcoming September 7 presidential election and their representatives underscored Friday, on day sixteen of the election campaign, the importance of this decisive election, stressing the need to preserve national identity.

In this regard, the candidate of the Socialist Forces Front, Youcef Aouchiche, affirmed in Baghai, Khenchela province, that he would strive to “build a strong Algeria that takes pride in all its identity components.”

The Socialist Forces Front candidate stressed that it is “important to honor the memory of the architects of this country’s glory” and to pass down their achievements and values to future generations, while also focusing on historical documentation and the advancement of cinema and arts.

He further noted the key proposals in his program, including setting up a National Agency for the safeguarding of heritage and national culture, and implementing a strategy to enhance national cultural prominence.

Aouchiche touched upon “the privileged place” that women have in his program, committing to further boost their role in the country’s development process.

Brahim Merad, campaign director of the independent candidate, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, called in Bejaia to “back Abdelmadjid Tebboune, whose program focuses on improving citizens’ living conditions in isolated regions and underdeveloped areas.”

In this respect, he recalled the achievements of Abdelmadjid Tebboune during his first presidential term.

In Setif, Merad highlighted the program of the independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which focuses on supporting underdeveloped areas and enhancing citizens’ living conditions by implementing supplementary development projects to those already carried out during the first presidential term.

In order to carry on this development dynamic, Merad urged citizens to turn out in large numbers on September 7 to vote for Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The President of El-Bina Movement Abdelkader Bengrina, whose party supports the independent candidate, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, noted in Oran the importance that Abdelmadjid Tebboune gives to the youth who are “the country’s future.”

In separate appearances, Mustapha Yahi, Secretary General of the National Democratic Rally, speaking in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and Fateh Boutbig, President of El-Moustakbel Front, in Touggourt, both reiterated that “backing Abdelmadjid Tebboune for a second term will ensure Algeria’s ongoing development process.”

Similarly, the secretary general of El Fadjr El Djadid, Tahar Benbaibeche, underscored in Relizane that voting in favor of Abdelmadjid Tebboune would enable him to build on his achievements and successfully carry out additional development projects.

The President of Tajamoua Amel El Djazaïr (TAJ), Fatma Zohra Zerouati, affirmed in Ain Temouchent that Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s program gives special consideration to women and bolsters their social and political rights.

For his part, the President of the Party of Liberty and Justice (PLJ), Djamel Benziadi, affirmed in Tipasa that Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s program “promotes policies aimed at achieving food self-sufficiency for Algeria,” as well as the secretary general of the Good Governance Front, Aissa Belhadi, who called in Saida to vote in favor of Abdelmadjid Tebboune “to complete the development process.”

For his part, the candidate of the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP), Abdelaali Hassani Cherif, termed the upcoming presidential election as “decisive,” stating that it demands everyone’s participation in the electoral process to elect the most capable president to lead the country.

He underscored that the objective is to transform Algeria into “an emerging country.”

Outlining his program, the MSP candidate said that it centers on “investing in human capital as the cornerstone of development and progress, which should ensure structural reforms in education, teaching, evaluation policies and regular updating and improvement of educational programs.”

He stated that, if elected, he would work to “elevate the status of education sector workers, enhance teacher training, reinforce the role of inspections and extracurricular activities, improve school communications and establish an advisory council to support local educational processes.”

He also stressed “the importance of maintaining stable families and a harmonious society, while protecting youth from social scourges, all of which contribute to preserving the identity and authenticity of the Algerian people.”
