Presidential election 2024: Biography of MSP candidate, Abdelaali Hassani Cherif

ALGIERS-The President of the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP), Abdelaali Hassani Cherif has entered the race for the September 7 presidential election for the first time with a program under the slogan “Opportunity”.

 

Hassani Cherif, who was born on 1 November 1966 in Magra (province of M’sila), is the MSP party’s fifth party. He holds a state engineering degree in civil engineering, which he obtained in 1992 from the Mohamed Boudiaf University of Msila, and a degree in law and administration (2004) from the same university.

The candidate joined the Scouts movement in the 1980s and was a member of the student movement at the University of Msila between 1987 and 1992.

After obtaining his degrees, Hassani Cherif Abdelaali held different positions at the provincial Public Works Department of Msila (1994 - 2002), and joined the political and party action at an early age, activating within local and provincial bodies of the Movement of Society for Peace.

In 1995, he became a member of the party's provincial office in Msila. From 2002 to 2007, he was elected deputy president of the provincial council and then a member of the People's National Assembly from 2007 to 2012.

He chaired the party's office in Msila between 2008 and 2013, before being in charge of the organization and digitization at the party's national office from 2013 to 2023.

He was then elected the Movement of Society for Peace president at the party's 8th congress.
