Prime minister chairs ceremony celebrating Mawlid Ennabaoui at Djamaa El Djazair

ALGIERS- Prime Minister, Nadir Larbaoui, chaired Sunday evening, in his capacity as representative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the ceremony celebrating Mawlid Ennabaoui Echarif (the birthday of the prophet peace be upon him) at Djamaa El Djazair.

Accompanied by the Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi, and the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, Brahim Merad, the Prime Minister performed the Maghreb prayer, alongside imams, sheikhs of Zawiyas and reciters of the Holy Quran.

In his sermon, the rector of Djamaa El-Djazaïr, Mohamed Maamoun Al Kacimi Al Hoceini evoked the life of the prophet (PBUH) and the symbolism of this celebration held for the first time in this important civilizational edifice.

He also said that the celebration of Mawlid Ennabaoui is "one of the blessed occasions during which we recall the life of the prophet, while emphasizing the human values characterizing the Muslim religion".

 

This event also included a collective reading of the Holy Quran and a religious chant, as well as a ceremony honoring six young male and female reciters who won the Holy Quran recitation competition.
