ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, took part on Sunday, in New York, in the opening session of the Summit for the Future, in his capacity as representative of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the ministry said in a statement.

"Representing the President of the Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, took part this morning at the United Nations headquarters in New York, in the opening session of the Summit of the Future," said the statement.

This summit, which is held Sunday and Monday, is devoted to "examining ways to strengthen the multilateral system and prospects for consolidating international cooperation in five key areas: sustainable development, international peace and security, scientific and technological cooperation, the rights of future generations, and the reform of the global governance system in its political and economic aspects," added the same source.

According to the statement, Minister Ahmed Attaf will make a speech at the plenary meeting of this summit and will participate in an interactive dialogue on "strengthening multilateralism in the service of international peace and security".
