Algeria and Kenya are bound by “longstanding friendship ties that date back to 1963,” said Kaluma Timothy Mcharo after presenting his credentials to the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
In this regard, he underlined “Algeria’s important role in supporting Kenya’s independence,” adding that “we really appreciate this support, because thanks to Algeria, Kenya succeeded in gaining its independence, and since then, we have established very good relations.”
In this respect, the Kenyan diplomat reviewed the areas of cooperation uniting the two countries, such as energy, education, agriculture and pharmaceutical industry, expressing the hope of seeing this cooperation strengthen further in the future, particularly in the commercial field.
He also highlighted the importance of creating a joint cooperation commission between Algeria and Kenya likely to “open up more prospects for common cooperation,” affirming his aspiration to work for “the strengthening of fraternal relations between the two countries.”
The credentials presentation ceremony was held in the presence of the Principal Private Secretary at the Presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf.[/ecr]
