IPU meeting in Geneva: MP Bouchouit calls for rallying support for emergency clause on Palestine

ALGIERS- MP Mohamed Anouar Bouchouit, the member of the People's National Assembly (lower house of Parliament), on Saturday in Geneva, Switzerland, stressed the need to rally support for the emergency clause on Palestine, in an address at a meeting of the working committee as part of the meetings of the 149th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the lower house said in a statement.

Taking part in the meeting of the working committee resulting from the coordination meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Group, as a member representing Algeria, MP Bouchouit stressed the need to "coordinate with the states that voted in the previous session for the emergency clause on Palestine."

The MP put forward the imperative of "preserving the gains and working towards obtaining new votes in favour of this clause."

The working session was chaired by the president of the Omani Consultative Council, as chairman of the committee made up of Algeria, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq and Oman, the statement said.
