Algerian, Mauritanian armies seal cooperation protocol

ALGIERS-Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (PNA), co-chaired on Thursday in Nouakchott with Lieutenant General El Mokhtar Bolle Chaabane, Chief of the General Staff of the Mauritanian Armed Forces, the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol between the armies of the two countries, according to a press release from the Ministry of National Defense.

“On the third day of his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, at the invitation of his Mauritanian counterpart, Lieutenant General El Mokhtar Bolle Chaabane, the Army General visited the G5 Sahel Defense College and the Nouakchott Polytechnic Complex,” the statement said.

“The visit was an opportunity for the Army General and his accompanying delegation to learn more about Mauritania's experience in the field of high-level military and scientific training,” said the source.

On this occasion, the Army General “received detailed briefings on these two establishments, and was given exhaustive explanations of their departments and missions.”

Subsequently, the Army General “visited the headquarters of the General Staff of the Mauritanian Armies, where he co-chaired with Lieutenant General El Mokhtar Bolle Chaabane, the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol between the armies of the two countries in the field of intelligence exchange, between the Central Director of Army Security of the PNA General Staff on the Algerian side and the Commander of the Military Intelligence and Security Division of the Armed Forces General Staff on the Mauritanian side.”
