Declaration of November 1: "Guideline, roadmap for independent, stable, prosperous Algeria"

ALGIERS- The speaker of the Council of the Nation (upper house of Parliament), Salah Goudjil, said the Declaration of November 1st was a "guideline and a roadmap for an independent, stable and prosperous Algeria."

In an address read on his behalf by the deputy speaker of the Council of the Nation (upper house), Ahmed Kharchi, at a conference held on the sidelines of the activities of the international book fair of Algiers, open Thursday at the SAFEX exhibition centre, Goudjil said the Revolution of November 1st "gave oppressed and colonised peoples the pride of victory and restored the balance of power based on human values and international legitimacy."

During the conference held under the theme: "The Glorious Spirit of November: Heritage and Memory," Goudjil said the declaration of November 1st was "a guideline and a roadmap, not only for independence, but also for an independent, stable and prosperous Algeria.

He underlined that "70 years after the outbreak of the glorious Revolution for liberation, its spirit is still alive in us, lighting our way to new victories in a new and stable Algeria, whose foundations have been laid by the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune."

Goudjil stressed the Algerian state's interest in culture and creativity, shown in the establishment of the President of the Republic Award of Cultural and Scientific Figures and the State Award of Arts and letters.
