Arab-Islamic Summit: Foreign Affairs Ministry denies statements attributed to President of the Republic

ALGIERS- A private media outlet has inappropriately blended commentary and content of official discourse, and has falsely attributed unfounded statements to the President of the Republic. According to this outlet, these statements were made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs on behalf of the President of the Republic during the recent Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, the Ministry said in a press release.

As evidenced by both the written and audiovisual versions, the Algerian declaration at the Riyadh Summit in no way and in no form calls for a re-establishment of the Arab embargo of 1973.

A straightforward reading of this declaration would make it clear that the political, diplomatic, economic and military sanctions in question are those that Algeria is calling for to be imposed on the Zionist entity for its aggression, genocide, as well as the war crimes and crimes against humanity that it is perpetrating with impunity in Gaza and across the region, the source added.
