Government Meeting: social insurance, higher education, justice, and forest resources protection reviewed

ALGIERS-The Government examined on Wednesday, during its meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Nadir Larbaoui, draft bills and presidential and executive decrees relating to insurance, higher education, protection of forest resources, and heard communications on the modernization of services provided by public Justice services, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a press release.

“The Prime Minister, Nadir Larbaoui, chaired on Wednesday 25 December 2024, a government meeting on examining a draft bill modifying and complementing Law 83-11 of 2 July 1983, relating to social insurance, aimed at ensuring women’s empowerment and promotion of their rights, particularly the extension of maternity leave duration, in execution of the commitments of the President of the Republic.

As part of examining the situation of public services in various sectors, the Government heard communications dedicated to examining measures taken for developing services provided by Justice public services, as part of the digital transformation strategy implemented in light of the deep reforms decided by the President of the Republic for the modernization of justice.

The Government also finalized its examination of the presidential draft decree, setting the conditions and modalities for admitting foreign students to Algerian higher education and vocational training institutions, which is part of the regulatory measures aimed at opening up the Algerian university and strengthening its attractiveness.

Finally, the Government examined a draft executive decree setting the conditions and modalities for declassifying lands belonging to the public forest domain, aimed at strengthening measures to protect forest resources, in application of the provisions of Law 23-21 of 23 December, 2023, relating to forests and forest resources.”
