During the meeting, State Secretary Mansouri conveyed the President of the Republic’s fraternal greetings to his Gambian counterpart and expressed his willingness to work together to foster bilateral cooperation, the statement said.

For his part, Gambia’s president welcomed the quality of bilateral ties and Algeria’s leading role in Africa, particularly through its rotating presidency of the Security Council, where it advocated for African issues such as the preservation of peace and security and counterterrorism, the statement added.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and ways to bolster them, the statement concluded.[/ecr]
