The Bureau of the Upper House considers that “the statement made by the French president about Algeria is a misstep, an imprudence, an extremely serious behaviour, an act of misconduct, even a political crime and a hostile act.”
This statement, which “goes against the rules of diplomatic propriety, fundamental rules of international relations and other principles of diplomatic practice,” clearly illustrates “France’s loss of bearings as a State,” said the Bureau.
Moreover, it “is a serious violation of the principle of respect for state sovereignty and an infringement of Algeria’s sovereignty, but also a flagrant political provocation, arousing strong indignation from the Algerian people and all components of the Nation,” said the press release.
It demonstrates, once again, that “certain French circles and their media outlets have transformed into vectors of provocations in Algerian-French relations,” which “perfectly reflects an anti-Algerian hysteria,” noted the same source.
In this regard, the Bureau strongly condemns this statement, which “is part of France’s accumulation of hostile acts towards Algeria, aiming to divert attention from France’s internal crises through the mediocre recycling and the vulgar staging of far-right positions, hostile to everything Algerian.”
The French president’s remarks “testify to an unprecedented failure of French official discourse, while marking a collapse of republican institutions, a crisis of political elites and a manifest failure of the political class, in favour of parasites and intruders motivated only by their personal interests, at the expense of principles and nobility of political knights, recognized everywhere and at all times.”
In this respect, the Bureau of the Upper House emphasizes that “the new and victorious Algeria, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has developed policies further consolidating the independence of its national decisions, both politically and economically.”
“Faithful to the November philosophy, it develops its relations with countries of the world while categorically rejecting any interference in its internal affairs,” added the press release, assuring that “Algeria will not allow those who, under the pretext of human rights, seek to find a fallacious motive to intervene in purely internal matters.”
The Bureau of the Council of the Nation recalled that “the Algerian Nation, which had to face and fight evil forces for long decades to free itself and liberate humanity from the colonial yoke, will not tolerate and will not excuse such missteps,” affirming that the Algerian people “is totally and unequivocally endowed and equipped with the capacity to defend the country’s sovereignty and preserve the dignity of the Nation.”
