The meeting provided an opportunity to examine “the state of privileged relations between Algeria and the United States of America and various aspects of bilateral cooperation” and to highlight “the shared willingness that drives the leaders of both countries and their desire to strengthen the Algerian-American partnership in various fields and to expand and diversify it in service of the common interests of both friendly countries and peoples.”
The two parties also reviewed “regional and international issues of mutual interest.”
In this regard, they underscored “the importance of intensifying bilateral consultations between the two countries to address common challenges in service of peace, stability and development, particularly within the framework of the United Nations Security Council,” according to the statement.
