“It is with a heart submitted to the will of Allah that the Minister of Communication learned of the death of Moudjahid Mohamed Hadj Hamou, at the age of 96," reads the condolence message.
Late Mohamed Hadj Hamou, who became independent Algeria's first Minister of Communication, began his career in 1957 at “Voice of the Arabs” radio station under the leadership of Mujaheed Saad Dahleb. He later served as chief of staff of the Minister of Information in the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic (GPRA), late M'hamed Yazid.
After Algeria gained independence, late Hadj Hamou was appointed Minister of Information, where he continued his dedication to serving his nation, honoring the values of his fellow freedom fighters and martyrs.
In this painful ordeal, the minister extends "his sincere condolences and deep compassion to the family of the deceased, praying to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased His holy mercy and to welcome him in his paradise, and to lend patience and comfort to his loved ones.”
