During this meeting, Boughali expressed hope that this visit would contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly parliamentary and economic, according to the same source.
The two parties discussed ways to mutually benefit from parliamentary experience in developing legal texts and strengthening cooperation in the sectors of higher education, advanced technologies, energy, and economy, by intensifying exchanges and cooperation between economic operators of both countries, particularly in light of the commitment of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to multiply efforts so as to diversify sources of wealth and end dependence on oil.
As for international relations, Boughali welcomed Slovenia’s recognition of the State of Palestine, describing this position as “courageous,” reaffirming Algeria’s consistent positions on regional and international causes and its commitment to supporting just causes, particularly the Palestinian and Sahrawi causes.
For his part, the head of the Slovenian delegation affirmed his country’s willingness to strengthen and promote bilateral cooperation relations to cover more areas of common interest, mentioning the possibility of exchanging expertise, particularly in parliamentary cooperation.
Discussing the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, Gregoric welcomed the ceasefire agreement and condemned the genocide committed against the Palestinian people, stating that recognition of the Palestinian cause, although late, is “a moral and humanitarian duty.”
