ALGIERS-The Minister of Communication, Mohamed Meziane, presented his sincere condolences following the death, on Thursday, of former Algeria Press Service (APS) journalist Mohamed Bakir.

“Following the death of former journalist Mohamed Bakir, the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Meziane, extends his sincere condolences and deep compassion to the family of the deceased, as well as to the entire media community, praying to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased His holy mercy, and to provide patience and comfort to his family and loved ones. To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return,” said in the condolence message.

The deceased, who spent his entire professional career as a journalist and official at APS, was known for his professionalism, competence, and high moral qualities, and enjoyed the respect of his peers and agency managers, which enabled him to climb the ladder of responsibility and assume several positions, including that of international service editor-in-chief and APS correspondent in Moscow.
