During a working visit to Algeria from 27 to 30 January, Ermacora emphasized the EU’s commitment to strengthening partnership between the two parties as part of developing a “new pact for the Mediterranean,” according to a statement published on the EU’s official website.
This visit aimed to conduct consultations so as to define cooperation priorities between the EU and Algeria for 2025-2027.
The European delegation included representatives from departments in charge of neighbourhood relations, energy, internal affairs, migration, and foreign affairs.
During this visit, the delegation held talks with officials from several Algerian ministries, notably Foreign Affairs, Energy and Mines, Water Resources, Industry, Trade and Finance.
They were also received at the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI).
The discussions focused on several areas of cooperation, particularly investment, trade facilitation, renewable energy, migration, culture, and job creation, according to the same source.
