Attaf in Damascus on official visit as President Tebboune's special envoy

ALGIERS — As the special envoy of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, arrived Saturday in Damascus for an official visit to the sisterly Arab Republic of Syria, according to a ministry statement.

“This visit is part of the long-standing relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples and aims to review ways to bolster and enhance these ties,” the statement said.

It also aims to “reaffirm Algeria's solidarity and support for Syria during this delicate period in its contemporary history,” the statement continued.

During this visit, the Minister of State will be received in Damascus by the President of the Syrian Arab Republic during the transition period, Ahmed Al-Charaa, to deliver a letter from his brother, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the same source concluded.
