During this meeting, which was attended by senior officials from both sides, the two parties discussed "bilateral military relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them to best serve the supreme interests of the two brotherly peoples."

On this occasion, the Army General "conveyed to his host the greetings of the President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, before recalling the history of Algerian-Indian relations that date back to Algeria's struggle for independence and sovereignty."
