Attaf holds talks with Somalia’s counterpart

ALGIERS – The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Tuesday in Addis Ababa with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar. The meeting took place on the eve of Attaf’s participation in the proceedings of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU), according to a statement from the ministry.

“These talks provided an opportunity to exchange viewpoints on the main issues on the agenda of the AU’s Executive Council and to discuss ways to strengthen relations between Algeria and Somalia,” said the source.

On this occasion, the two foreign ministers “highlighted the importance of ongoing coordination between the two countries during their term as non-permanent United Nations (UN) Security Council members, particularly within the A3+ Group,” the same source said.[/ecr]
