This meeting was “an opportunity to evaluate the progress made in the negotiations process of the Security Council reform and to coordinate African positions as part of the international governmental process of the Security Council reform,” according to the press release.
In this respect, “the Secretary of State reiterated Algeria’s commitment to the common African position, stemming from the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration, which demands fair representation for Africa within the Security Council, to remedy the historical injustice suffered by the African continent in the international system,” concluded the press release.
