Mansouri participates in C10 preparatory meeting

ALGIERS-The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of African Affairs, Selma Bakhta Mansouri, participated in the preparatory meeting, at the level of Foreign Ministers, of the Committee of Ten Heads of State and Government of the African Union (C10) on the reform of the United Nations Security Council, held virtually under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sierra Leone, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs said Tuesday in a press release.

This meeting was “an opportunity to evaluate the progress made in the negotiations process of the Security Council reform and to coordinate African positions as part of the international governmental process of the Security Council reform,” according to the press release.

In this respect, “the Secretary of State reiterated Algeria’s commitment to the common African position, stemming from the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration, which demands fair representation for Africa within the Security Council, to remedy the historical injustice suffered by the African continent in the international system,” concluded the press release.
