The forum, hosted by the State of Kuwait from February 9 to 12, is organized by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction in cooperation with the Arab League, and will see the participation of 22 Arab countries, representatives of international organizations, diplomatic missions and nearly 800 participants, experts and actors in fields related to major risk management, said the press release.
This meeting will also highlight the progress made by Arab countries in monitoring the implementation of the Sendai global framework for disaster risk reduction and the Arab strategy for disaster risk reduction 2030, with the adoption of the action plan for the remaining period (2025-2027).
“In addition to allowing a fruitful exchange of experiences in this field, this forum will also be an opportunity to present the Algerian experience and efforts deployed by public authorities, in accordance with the commitments of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for the continuous improvement of disaster risk management and modernization of the national risk management system, within a participatory framework between the different actors of society,” concluded the press release.
