Attaf met Egypt's minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdel Aty, Mozambique's minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas, and Ghana's minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
He also met the Ivory Coast's minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration, Kacou Houadja Leon Adom, Burundi's minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, Albert Shingiro, Lesotho's minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Lejone Mpotjoane, and Libya's minister of for the Management of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Taher Al-Baour, the statement said.
The minister of State's meeting with his Egyptian counterpart was an opportunity to discuss preparations for the bilateral high-level events and meetings, tackle issues discussed at the level of the African Union and consult on the Arab League Summit to be dedicated to the developments of the Palestinian cause.
The discussions between Attaf and the Foreign Minister of Mozambique focused on the ways to preserve the positive momentum of the bilateral relations, exchanging views on issues of common interest at the continental level.
With his Ghanaian counterpart, the minister tackled the developments in the neighbourhood of both countries and discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and joint coordination on regional and international issues.
Attaf broached with his Ivory Coast's counterpart the ways to give a fresh impetus to relations between the two countries, especially in the economic field.
The meeting between Attaf and Burundi's Foreign Minister was an opportunity to "discuss the implementation of practical measures agreed upon during the visit of the minister of State, minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs in Bujumbura, last December, concerning the revitalization of cooperation and the activation of mechanisms," according to the statement.
With the Foreign Minister of Lesotho, Attaf discussed the prospects for strengthening bilateral relations and the continuation of the support to just causes in Africa.
At the meeting with Libya's minister for the management of the ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed issues on the agenda of the African Union Executive Council meeting and AU Summit, and other issues relating to bilateral cooperation, the statement concluded.
