National Shaheed Day: Chaib takes part in ceremony organized by Consulate General of Algeria in Marseille

ALGIERS- Secretary General to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abroad, in charge of National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, took part on Tuesday, via video-conference, at the commemorative ceremony marking the National Shaheed Day, organized by the Consulate General of Algeria in Marseille, sadi the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs.

[ecr] The Secretary of State highlighted "the symbolism of this historic occasion, renewed with all the values it carries, such as loyalty to the immeasurable sacrifices made by our valiant people during a long and arduous struggle against abject colonialism, through which they wrote historical epics that will remain engraved in the memory of the Nation," according to the same source.

On this occasion, he praised "the attachment of our diaspora to the motherland and their pride in belonging to the Nation, expressed on numerous occasions through their commitment to preserving national memory and the constants of national identity."

Chaib further recalled that "the Government is working to meet the demands related to safeguarding the legacy of the brave martyrs, preserving Algeria's sovereignty, and continuing the process of national development."

As part of efforts to address these demands, the Secretary of State welcomed "the sustained efforts of his department, in coordination with the relevant government sectors, to realize the project of creating a virtual Algerian school for the children of our community abroad. This initiative aims to instill in them the foundations of culture, national identity, and the history of Algeria, given their importance in shaping future generations and fostering a sense of belonging and the values of citizenship among children."
