“Appointed by the president of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) and Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Brahim Boughali, the president of the presidential third parliamentary group at the Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament) and member of the AIPU Executive Committee, Saad Arrous, and the lower house member and Arab Parliament member, Youcef Rahmania, participated in the meetings of the Preparatory Committee for the 7th joint conference between AIPU, the Arab Parliament and the presidents of Arab councils and parliaments, scheduled for next Saturday in Cairo,” said the same source.
This participation in the conference meetings follows “the active presence of Algerian parliamentary diplomacy, with the aim of strengthening joint Arab action and reaffirming Algeria’s unwavering position in favour of Arab action and Arab causes, primarily the Palestinian cause.”
The agenda focused on “defining a unified Arab parliamentary position to support the resistance of the Palestinian people on their land and reject proposals for forced or voluntary displacement of the Palestinian people,” according to the press release.
