Boughali arrives in Cairo to chair 7th Arab Parliament Conference

ALGIERS- President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), President of the People's National Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, arrived in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday to chair the 7th Conference of the Arab Parliament and the Presidents of Arab Assemblies and Parliaments, scheduled to take place on Saturday at the headquarters of the Arab League, according to a statement from the lower house of parliament.

 

[ecr] Upon his arrival in Cairo, Boughali was welcomed by President of the Arab Parliament, Muhammad Ahmed Al-Yamahi, in the presence of first vice-president of the Arab Parliament, and member of the National Council, Fouad Sebouta, member of the APN, Youcef Rahmania, Ambassador of Algeria to Cairo, Mohamed Sofiane Berrah, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament, Kamel Mohamed Farid Chaaraoui, and Secretary-General of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), Ahmed Baabud, said the source. 

Co-organized by the Arab Parliament (PA) and the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), this conference aims to "adopt an Arab parliamentary document supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land, rejecting the plans of deportation and annexation, and countering attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue," as part of efforts to strengthen Arab collective action and parliamentary coordination in support of central Arab causes.

The Algerian delegation taking part in the proceedings of this conference includes the first vice-president of the Arab Parliament (PA) and member of the National Council, Fouad Sebouta, a member of the Executive Committee of the AIPU, president of the parliamentary group of the presidential third at the National Council, Saad Arrous, MPs Youcef Rahmania, Brahim Fekhour, and Khelladi Zoheir, as well as senators Bettahar Lazreg and Abdelkrim Korichi, concluded the same source.
