ALGIERS- The minister of State, minister of foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held Tuesday in Cairo a bilateral meeting with Mauritania's minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, shortly before his participation in the extraordinary Arab Summit, the ministry said in a statement.

The two ministers tackled a "number of issues on the strengthening of the relations of fraternity and cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania," the statement said.
They also exchanged views on political issues of common interest at the regional and internal levels, the statement concluded.
