Road accident in Tiaret: President Tebboune offers condolences to victims’ families

ALGIERS — President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune extended Thursday his condolences to the families of the victims of a tragic road accident in the province of Tiaret, where two students lost their lives and 33 others were injured.

“Following the devastating collision that occurred this morning in Aïn Lemsane, on the road connecting Frenda to Aïn Kermes in Tiaret province, which claimed the lives of two innocent students and left 33 others injured—including three in serious condition—as they went to school in pursuit of knowledge, we can only beseech Almighty Allah to bestow His infinite mercy upon our departed children. We offer our heartfelt condolences to their families and share in their grief during this painful ordeal, praying that Allah, in this sacred month, welcomes them into His Vast Paradise. We also wish the injured a swift recovery and a safe return to their loved ones,” wrote the President of the Republic in his message.

The President continued, “The tragedy was caused by the reckless driving of a tractor-trailer that collided with a school bus.”

“While we commend the rapid response of the Civil Protection units, which rescued the injured and ensured their transfer to healthcare facilities in Sougueur and Tiaret, we urge all relevant institutions and authorities to intensify their efforts and heighten vigilance to combat road terrorism, which has once again struck our children in this holy month. To Allah we belong, and to Him we return,” concluded President Tebboune in his condolence message.
