This statement was made during a speech by the minister read on his behalf by the Director General of the Algerian Chamber of Trade and Industry (CACI), Hocine Zaoui, at a Forum on Investment in Algeria.
The forum, held on June 25-26 at “Dar el Djazair” hall in the exhibition center, was organized by the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency in collaboration with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) as part of the 55th Algiers International Fair (FIA2024).
It drew participation from various business organizations, financial institutions and experts.
The minister believes that the expected economic progress in Africa requires “better implementation of the continental free trade agreement, alongside ongoing economic reforms to enhance the trade and business environment in Africa.”
He further noted that a new investment law has been adopted in Algeria to “improve the investment system to promote cooperation and partnership with foreign partners, especially Africans.”
This law is capable of opening new horizons for investors along with providing them with the required facilitations, enabling a shift from production to exportation while also supporting businessmen and foreign companies in transferring profits.
