The public company “Ecorep” unveiled on Saturday the first pleasure boat, measuring over 16 meters in length and capable of accommodating 72 passengers.

The boat’s inauguration ceremony was co-chaired by Minister Aoun, as well as the Ministers of Transport, Mohamed El Habib Zahana, and of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mokhtar Didouche and the governor of Tipasa, Abou Bakr Seddik Boucetta.

According to Hamid Benderradji, the company’s CEO, this project represents Ecorep’s first fully in-house model. The entire process, from initial studies through engineering, design, and manufacturing, was completed with an 87% integration rate over a 12-month period. This was followed by technical trials and was brought into compliance with current international standards in the field.

On this occasion, Aoun noted a “significant improvement” in Ecorep’s overall performance.

He pointed out that the company has effectively tackled its previous difficulties and is now meeting 85% of its client commitments. This includes the construction of aluminum tugboats for Sonatrach, along with different other orders.

Ecorep, having made a strong market entry, is now urged to ramp up its efforts and diversify its product range to meet local market demands, the minister added.

He emphasized that directives have been issued to implement the Government’s strategy, which aims to back the company’s growth, enhance its industry competitiveness, and consequently contribute to national economic development in maritime transport, port management, and tourism.
