Zitouni chairs installation of Foreign Trade Monitoring Committee members

ALGIERS — The Minister of Trade and Exports Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, chaired on Monday in Algiers the ceremony of installing new members of the Foreign Trade Monitoring Committee, highlighting the interest given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to the foreign trade file.

The ministry said that installing this committee is part of the ongoing efforts to boost trade sector performance and achieve economic growth objectives.

In his speech, Zitouni affirmed that “activating this Committee is one of several measures taken by the trade sector, in collaboration with the concerned sectors, to structure foreign trade and balance the trade balance by promoting non-hydrocarbon exports and regulating imports in order to preserve national production.”

The minister noted the particular interest given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to the foreign trade file, insisting on “activating economic intelligence and aligning the foreign trade policy with the interests of the country, particularly in view of the geostrategic and strategic challenges facing the global economy.”
