Sonelgaz exports important electrical equipment to Iraq

ALGIERS- Sonelgaz group will export important electrical equipment to Iraq, emphasizing that it succeeded in relaunching significant commercial partnerships locally and internationally, Sonelgaz said Saturday in a press release.

The ceremony marking the export operation is set to take place on Saturday at the General Electric Algeria Turbines “GEAT” facility in Batna, a joint venture between Sonelgaz and the American company General Electric (GE). This operation involves the export of a major shipment of electrical equipment to the Iraqi company “Taurus Arm for Power Generation, Oil Trading and Transportation Ltd,” said the press release.

It includes the export of “H53” and “H50” gas turbine generator, with a capacity of 300 megawatts, along with associated accessories, said the same source.

This operation is part of the country’s strategic goals to gradually reduce the dependence on hydrocarbons by diversifying economic and commercial activities and developing national products, said the press release.

Sonelgaz affirmed that it will continue its strategic programs aimed at increasing the value of its exports and supporting the national integration rate.

Through its subsidiaries, the Group successfully relaunched significant commercial partnerships both locally and internationally “in record time,” demonstrating “its economic effectiveness in implementing the directives of the country’s high authorities.”

These operations confirm “the group’s substantial contribution to boosting the value chain in the energy sector, achieving growth, prosperity, and developing local competences” in addition to “supporting the national development dynamic in line with the economic vision adopted by the country’s high authorities,” the press release concluded.[/ecr]
