The meeting was held as part of the global Conference on energy Gastech, held in Houston, and which is meant to be “an important platform to share expertise and examine ways of cooperation between the global energy leaders,” said the source.

The two sides examine “the possibilities for enhanced cooperation between Sonatrach and Chevron, particularly in exploration and production, in order to extend their partnership in energy.”

This meeting is part “the two companies’ willingness to strengthen their relations and exchange their expertise in anticipation of future projects,” said the source, underlining that Sonatrach signed on 13 June 2024, a memorandum of understanding with Chevron for the development of hydrocarbon resources in areas of common interest.
