Humanitarian aid sent to Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf

ALGIERS — Humanitarian aid provided by the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) was delivered on Wednesday from the Boufarik air base of the first military Region for the benefit of Sahrawi brothers in the refugee camps in Tindouf following recent floods, the Ministry of National Defense said in a press release on Thursday.

“As part of bolstering humanitarian and fraternal ties between the Algerian people and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, a brotherly country, 70 tons of humanitarian aid consisting of bedding and various food items, were delivered on Wednesday, 25 September 2024, from the Boufarik air base of the first Military Region,” the same source noted.

This humanitarian aid, provided by the CRA, was transported “aboard two military aircraft belonging to the Algerian air forces to Tindouf airport, in order to distribute it to our Sahrawi brothers in the refugee camps in Tindouf province following the recent floods,” the same source wrapped up.
