ORAN — Sonatrach's CEO, Rachid Hachichi affirmed Monday in Oran that the “South 2 Corridor” project will serve as the cornerstone for launching a green hydrogen industry in Algeria.

“South 2 Corridor secures the green hydrogen market, which is crucial before embarking on production,” Hachichi said during a press conference, on the sidelines of the opening of the 12th NAPEC at the “Mohamed Benahmed” Conference Center in Oran.

He added that Algeria possesses all the necessary resources to enter the green hydrogen industry.

Sonatrach's CEO further noted that the global market, especially in Europe, is currently showing high demand for this clean energy source.
