Arkab participates in ministerial meeting of World Fusion Energy Group

ALGIERS-The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, is taking part on Wednesday in Rome, Italy, in the ministerial meeting of the World Fusion Energy Group (WFEG) under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the ministry said Tuesday in a press release.

This meeting will be held at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Arkab will be accompanied by the Algerian ambassador to Italy, the CEO of Sonelgaz Group and the Commissioner for Nuclear Energy (COMENA), the same source said.

This high-level meeting will be co-chaired by the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and the Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Mariano Grossi.

It will feature many politicians and representatives of the participating countries, scholars, researchers and executive directors of global companies specializing in energy, as well as entrepreneurs, investors and others.

The meeting will serve as a platform “to exchange views on the strategies adopted to speed up the development and experimentation of fusion energy, along with discussing priority issues related to policy and financial frameworks, technological progress, marketing processes and international cooperation so as to develop this promising technology to provide low-carbon energy to meet growing development needs.”[/ecr]
