Mines: Arkab receives president of Turkish company “Has Ozcelik”

ALGIERS- Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received on Thursday the president of the Turkish mining company “Has Ozcelik,” Murat Ozcelik, with whom he discussed opportunities for cooperation with Algerian companies in the mining sector, according to a ministry statement.

This meeting, which took place at the ministry’s headquarters in the presence of senior officials, centred on exploring business and investment prospects between mining sector entities, particularly between Sonarim Group and Has Ozcelik, focusing on the exploitation and transformation of mining and mineral raw materials in Algeria," according to the source.

In this regard, Arkab highlighted the “significant” investment and partnership opportunities in Algeria in research, exploration, exploitation, and transformation of ferrous and non-ferrous mining resources, thanks to the favourable investment climate offered by the new investment law, and the good relations existing between sector companies and Turkish companies in the energy and mining field, added the statement.

For his part, Ozcelik responded by expressing his company's strong interest in the Algerian market, particularly in mining and processing resources like phosphate, gold, feldspar, and aluminium. He also highlighted potential opportunities in infrastructure development and local equipment manufacturing through win-win partnerships, the statement concluded.
