The MoU aims to develop the areas of governance of the mining sector, the training and instruction of executives in geology and mining, particularly in mineral exploration, the sustainable management of mineral resources as well as the preservation of the mining heritage, said the same source.

It aims, among other things, to rehabilitate sites, strengthen the digitization of the management systems, audit plants and equipment, strengthen and support the laboratories of mineral sciences, and exchange expertise in the field of mining research and exploration.

The memorandum paves the way for the implementation of joint projects encompassing the exploitation of natural resources, such as gold, rare minerals and marble, added the press release.

This protocol is part of the two countries’ strategy to boost economic cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual interests, said the same source, announcing the creation of a joint commission responsible for monitoring the implementation of the agreed clauses and periodically evaluating the results of cooperation.  [/ecr]
