Arkab to participate in 113th OAPEC Council of Ministers’ meeting

ALGIERS-The Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab, will participate on Sunday, in Kuwait, in the 113th Council of Ministers’ meeting of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), the ministry said Saturday in a press release.

The meeting will examine “a number of important agenda items, notably the adoption of the ministerial decision related to the project of restructuring and developing the organization’s activities and the approval of the organization’s budget for the 2025 fiscal year,” said the press release.

The meeting will also “examine reports elaborated by the organization’s General Secretariat on global developments in the oil and gas sector and the review of projects launched by the organization, particularly those related to strengthening information systems and training programs.”

During the meeting, participants will also discuss initiatives such as promoting the circular carbon economy (CCE) and will examine the Secretary General’s report on the organization’s activities in 2024, as well as the decision to increase the value of the scientific research prize so as to encourage innovation and research in energy and petroleum, according to the ministry.

The meeting will furthermore be “an opportunity to strengthen Arab regional cooperation in the energy and petroleum sector and to follow global developments in this vital field,” emphasizes the press release.
