Arkab holds talks with Kuwaiti counterpart

ALGIERS-The Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Arkab, held Saturday, in Kuwait, talks with the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, saad bin sherida al-kaabi, with whom he discussed the state of bilateral cooperation and partnership relations in energy, notably hydrocarbons, as well as prospects for bolstering them.

The meeting was a prelude to the 113th Council of Ministers’ meeting of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), held Sunday in Kuwait’s capital, the ministry said in a press release.

During this meeting, the two parties emphasized “the excellency of the bilateral historical relations, that were further strengthened in the recent years thanks to the sincere political will of the two countries’ officials.”

While presenting the development strategy of the sector, Arkab called Qatari companies to “continue to invest in hydrocarbons and petrochemical industry, as well as to create mutual beneficial partnerships as part of the new hydrocarbons law that offers numerous advantages to investors.”

The two ministers discussed other cooperation aspects related to the exchange of expertise and cooperation in the mines field in Algeria notably research, exploitation and production of mineral resources, said the same source.
