Finance Ministry meeting: Implementing legislation for 2025 Finance Act on agenda

ALGIERS- Finance Minister Laaziz Faid chaired Saturday a coordination meeting, bringing together the sector's general directors and managers of financial institutions, to review the progress of implementing legislation for the Finance Act 2025 and the implementation of the Contract of Objectives and Performance (COP) of the General Tax Directorate.

According to a statement by the ministry of Finance, the meeting, the last in 2024, was meant for consultation to ensure an "effective and efficient governance within the sector."

In an opening address, the ministry stressed the key role of coordination meetings in the implementation of a "modernised governance, based on the principles of consultation, performance and tangible results."

He emphasized the need to hold regular meetings, to identify priorities, suggest the appropriate solutions and ensure rigorous monitoring of targets, the statement said.

Faid also stressed the importance of extending such periodic consultations to all the ministry's structures and their external services, for optimum coordination and greater efficiency in project management and strategic initiatives.
