The official recalled that AQS “was able to access, thanks to the quality of its products, many international markets, which allowed it to export some 700,000 tonnes of steel and derivatives to 36 countries.

Chaib Setti added that these exports generated “more than 360 million dollars,” which mirrors, according to him, “the company’s involvement in the general orientation of public authorities aiming to increase non-hydrocarbon exports.”

The Deputy General Manager explained that AQS’s access to international markets and its significant market share stem from “the compliance with norms and standards required by different countries to accept any product.”

For Chaib Setti, “obtaining international quality compliance certificates has allowed the company to integrate seamlessly into most European, American and Asian markets,” and has also enabled it to win the title of “best Algerian exporter to Africa for 2024.”

The turnover of Algerian Qatari Steel company reached, in 2024, no less than 139 billion dinars, while production volume exceeded two (2) million tonnes of steel products, of which 66% were directed to the national market and 34% to export.

These figures reflect “the competitiveness of the Algerian product in the most prestigious international markets,” affirmed Chaib Setti, revealing that the goals set in the near future is to reach an export volume of 2.7 million tonnes out of 4 million tonnes representing the total annual production of the company, and this, after the implementation of the second phase of the expansion project whose commissioning is planned for 2028.
